Marley Shelton Returning in New 'Scream' Movie As Her 'Scream 4' Character Plus More Casting News

The big Scream news today was that Neve Campbell has joined the cast of Spyglass and Paramount's franchise relaunch, but more casting news has arrived to finish off the day.

Deadline reports that Marley Shelton is headed back to Woodsboro, reprising the role of Deputy Judy Hicks that she first played in Wes Craven's Scream 4!

This confirms that the new movie, in case you had any doubts, is not disregarding the sequels.

Additionally, Dylan Minnette (Goosebumps), Mason Gooding (Let It Snow), Kyle Gallner (Ghosts of War), Jasmin Savoy Brown ("Love") and Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) have joined an ensemble that also includes David Arquette and Courteney Cox who will return as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers, as well as new cast members Jack Quaid ("The Boys"), Melissa Barrera ("In The Heights") and Jenna Ortega ("You").

Scream is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock).

Spyglass and Paramount Pictures will release the film worldwide on January 14, 2022.
